Another UI is a set of components and blocks for React and Tailwind CSS. You add the code to your app and it is yours to change.

Another UI is our UI library on top of shadcn/ui. It keeps the same open code approach and adds its own look, its own components and full app blocks.

You do not install a package and import from it. Each component is copied into your project as plain source files, so you can read it, change it and keep it.

What you get#

  • Components: buttons, menus, dialogs, forms and the rest of the basics, plus extras like Kanban, Data Table, Timeline, Stat, Device and Window mockups, Terminal and a Rich Text Editor.
  • AI components: Message Scroller, Composer, Reasoning, Tool Call, Approval Card, Citations and Questionnaire for chat and agent interfaces.
  • Blocks: full app views built only from the components, like the Airtable base, ClickUp list and board, Sheets, Notion page and Notices.
  • Three bases: every component comes in Radix UI, Base UI and React Aria versions with the same API and the same look.

How it looks and feels#

  • Icons: Phosphor icons in the duotone weight. Arrows, carets, plus, minus, X, checks and dots use the bold weight so they stay sharp at small sizes.
  • Motion: overlays, toggles and disclosures move on one shared scale from transitions.dev. See motion.
  • Sound: components can play short Cuelume interaction sounds, with a single switch to turn them off. See sounds.
  • One radius: every surface uses the same corner radius, and nested surfaces stay concentric.

Start a new app#

One command creates a Next.js app with Another UI, dark mode and a starter set of components:

pnpm dlx shadcn@latest create -t next -n my-app https://anotherui.dev/new

How it works#

  1. Set up a React app with Tailwind CSS v4.
  2. Add any component by its URL. The shared Another UI stylesheet comes with the first one.
  3. Edit the files in your project however you like.

Start with Installation, then browse the components or try a look in the theme editor.
